Full guide:

1. Press the New Upload button above

The button will open an upload page at Internet Archive in a new tab or window.

You need to login to Internet Archive to upload files.

Sign up for a new account if you don’t have one.

2. Add audio files to the upload page

Choose the audio files you want to upload.

You can drag and drop or select from your device.

Upload only MP3 or M4A audio files for maximum compatibility with all devices, browsers and players.

3. Review details

The upload page will show you a metadata editor with text fields once you add some files.

If you do not see a metadata editor (and instead see a button labeled “Add files to existing item”) then close the tab or window, and press the “New Upload” button above again to reload the upload page.

If you do see a metadata editor, then all the required fields are automatically filled in for you.

Copy the file name of the file you are uploading, and paste into the bottom of the Description field with a blank line separating the Item Number from the file name.

Here is an example of a properly formatted description field:

    Onesoulatatime Item: 265294067

    3-8-26-preaching-message.mp3

You should be able to upload and create your item with no additional changes to the metadata.

However, you can check over the fields to see if everything is correct.

You should see the Item Title and Description contain something like this:

    Onesoulatatime Item: 265294067

You should see the Page URL contain something like this:

    onesoulatatime265294067

The Collection should be set to:

    Community audio

Important!

  1. Do not change the Item Title, the Page URL or the Collection.

  2. You can add text to the Description field (file name for example), but do not change the line with the Onesoulatatime Item number.

  3. You can add more Subject Tags, with each tag separated by a comma. (tags can contain spaces)

(If you have any suggestions for Subject Tags please let us know using the text number or email at the bottom of this page and your suggestions can be added to the New Upload button to be filled in automatically)

When you are ready, Press “Upload and Create Your Item” at the bottom of the upload page.

The page will ask you to wait while your files are being uploaded.

Do not close, leave or reload the page while your audio files are uploading.

4. Create embed code HTML

Once your audio files are uploaded you will be directed to the new item page at Internet Archive.

Copy the URL from the address bar of the item page.

The URL of the item page will look something like this:

    https://archive.org/details/onesoulatatime265294067

Press the “New Embed” button above and it will open the embed code generator.

Paste the URL into the generator, and Press “Generate Embed Code”.

The generator will make some HTML code for an audio player and download link for each audio file uploaded in the last step.

The generator will also show you a preview of the audio player and download link.

Copy the embed code HTML from the generator.

5. Paste the embed code HTML into a Weebly page or post

Go to your Weebly blog post or page.

Select the “Embed Code” element from the left toolbar.

Drag and drop it onto the “Drag Elements Here” text in the page.

Press the element you just dropped into the page and a popup menu will appear with an “Edit Custom HTML” button.

(It may be difficult to find the element on the page. It is almost invisible and contains small difficult-to-read text of “Click to set custom HTML”)

Press the “Edit Custom HTML” button in the popup menu and a text field will appear.

Delete the “Click to set custom HTML” text from the text field.

Paste the embed code HTML you copied from the embed code generator.

Click or tap anywhere outside the text field to close it (perhaps underneath the text field), and the audio player and download link will appear within the page.

Publish your page or post to see the audio player and download link live on your website.
